Birthday Club In an effort to support foster, relative or kinship care families we are starting a Birthday club for members of our organization. To register follow this link http://www.eventbrite.com/event/5672939916#. Be sure to register one month prior to birthday if at all possible but not more then 2 months out. We can't keep track that far out. Also, don't list each child you have only the one with the current birthday. If you would like to have a cake don’t forget to contact Ms Nicole Kinser, please give her advance notice, she donates her time and cakes to foster/adoptive families 404-667-7579 or email her at coleykinser@yahoo.com. She can do theme cakes and design cakes with a picture you may have or she can do cup cakes.
If child goes home before his/her birthday and you want to return package just call us at 770-378-0759, this will be up to you to decide. Some biological parents are grateful for what we give them when children are returned and others are not. DFCS News and Forms This page is exclusively for Cherokee County Foster & Adoptive Parents. The purpose of this is so that you can have better access to information that is not readily available to the general public. DFCS will be sending us announcements and general information to post and it will be updated as needed. Registration and Liability Insurance Coverage Application - Volunteer Foster parents play a vital
role in Georgia's efforts to care for children. Central to these efforts is an
effective and strong partnership between DFCS and foster parents. Strengthening
this partnership, Governor Sonny Perdue signed into law the Foster Parents Bill
of Rights on May 5, 2004. Georgia is one of nine states that have a legal Bill
of Rights for its foster parents. The Bill of Rights officially became law on
July 1, 2004. The twenty-three rights include issues such as non-discrimination,
disclosure of information, financial reimbursement and case planning for
children. The remedy for any rights
violations is through the Foster Parent Grievance Procedure. While DFCS is
committed to foster parents and the Bill of Rights, a process to address any
violations of the Bill of Rights has been established. This three-step process,
which begins at the county level, and can proceed to the State Division Director
and the State Mediation Committee, is the only remedy for violations of law. For
the full text of the bill, please visit the state legislature's website at
http://www.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2003_04/search/hb1580.htm. For a full explanation of the
grievance procedure and applicable forms, please see the associated document's
